BATTLE OF MIDWAY GAME TRAILER

A GENERAL PETTYGREE BATTLE STORY

BATTLE OF MIDWAY  ---  GAME TRAILER

A year ago on 7 December 2019, my chronicler Bill P., hosted an adaptation of The Battle of The Coral Sea. Some of you were there flying American or Japanese aircraft and sailing naval task forces too. A few of you lucky chaps even flew Australian Hurricanes at the far eastern end of Papua New Guinea defending Milne Bay. I'm not far from there now.

That game was fun, visually entertaining, certainly different due to big game tables some Americans have and was a small means to understand history a little bit better. Sometime later Bill had it in mind to adapt The Battle of Midway to the game table but the confounded planetary virus ruined 2020 plans.

In the spirit of never giving up and hope, our studio has produced the following trailer adapted from Lt. Commander Mc Clusky's Dauntless Squadron searching for IJN fleet carriers during The Battle of Midway.

"Hey Mac. If we don't find the Japanese Fleet soon, we won't have enough fuel to return to the Enterprise. I'm not in the mood to swim."

"Pipe down Lucky! This cloud cover makes it tough. Keep looking. All of you!"

"Will do boss. Still nuth'n in sight. Looks like a break in the clouds coming at two o'clock though. Maybe we'll see something."

"Well look at that! Destroyer bearing southwest and hauling! We got any ships this far out?"

"Hell no! I bet she's mak'n thirty knots heading for Admiral Nagumo's Fleet. That's my bet anyway."

"Bank right."

"Well done Lucky. Good eyes!"

"Let's see if she leads us to the enemy carriers."

"Yeah. There they are on the horizon at one o'clock. Four big flat tops and escorts. Time to get in the batter's box and hit a grand slam home run boys. Follow me!"

CLOSING REMARKS
Well, my dear pards, especially our regional players, we've not seen much of each other since March 2020. Let us hope that our cruel social isolation begins to diminish soon so we can enjoy each other's company again. Imagineer the part you might like to play in our 2021 adaptation of The Battle of Midway or any other game we've enjoyed through the years.

Suggestion:
Ardent prayer can make a difference. I wouldn't suggest this, if it were not so.
Try it even if you don't believe. Ask for the virus to disappear.

  5. That looks awesome. Out of curiosity but rule set(s) you will be using to accomplish this game? I read the set up for the Coral Sea games but I might have missed the rules you were using.

Kilted Dave: The rules are a mixture of Bag The Hun w/o hexes, Duel of Eagles (vanished authors so far as I know) turning templates and Check Your Six heavily influenced by my own design whims.
